We are a YouthBuild PLUS program, meaning participants can earn training and certification in several fields including construction and healthcare (CNA - certified nursing assistant). We put a strong emphasis on hard work, personal development, and genuine relationships. If you are up for a challenge and want to become the best version of yourself, join the YouthBuild family and experience a life change!

Participants 16-24 years of age and will benefit from the following:

  • A chance to earn a GED or High School Diploma (Partnered with Bridge Academy of Southwest Michigan)

  • Become certified in competitive industries

  • Receive a daily stipend and supportive services

  • Connect with apprenticeships and/or employment

  • Learn valuable life skills

  • Make life-long friendships

If a participant passes our tryout period called Mental Toughness, they will join the next cohort, which lasts for 6-8 months. Every day will be spent focused on academic work, vocational training, and hands-on learning. YouthBuild is a nationwide program brought to you by the Department of Labor. Our program in Benton Harbor is operated by Michigan Works! of Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren.
